We are looking for a highly skilled and EXPERIENCED Veterinary Technician for a full-time or part-time position to support our veterinarians in delivering exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate should be passionate about animal welfare, be dependable, have excellent technical skills, be a team player, and have a desire to learn and to grow in the veterinary field. We use electronic medical records so good computer skills are a must. Our Veterinary Technicians perform various roles such as Exam Room Technician, Treatment Room Technician, and Surgery Technician. Technician responsibilities include obtaining history from clients, assisting in exam rooms, client education, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, SQ/IV/IM injections, obtaining digital radiographs, performing treatments as directed by the doctors, preparing samples to be sent to outside laboratories, and performing in-house bloodwork. Technicians also prepare patients for surgery, intubate, monitor anesthesia, perform dental cleanings and obtain digital dental radiographs.

Our hospital is open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 6:00pm and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.   • Commitment to excellent client service, educating clients, and exceptional patient care
  • Detailed oriented, positive attitude and adaptable to change
  • Maintaining accurate electronic medical records – reviewing previous medical history, updating vaccines and all reminders
  • Liaison communication between clients and veterinarians
  • Proficient with laboratory procedures including hematology, blood chemistry, fecal, urinalysis, cytology
  • Knowledge of veterinary products (vaccines, preventatives, medications, etc.)
  • Filling prescriptions (basic pharmacology knowledge / familiarity with monthly preventatives, familiarity with commonly used medications)
  • Experience in digital radiography techniques
  • Gentle patient-focused handling and restraint
  • IV catheter placement and venipuncture skills
  • Monitoring general anesthesia and understanding surgical procedures and protocols
  • Ability to monitor hospital flow and complete daily general hospital care/maintenance
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • Desire to learn, and to be taught, and to be part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
